The Pakistani women enjoy a better status than most Muslim women. Pakistan is the only country in the Islamic world to have women appointed in the high ranking assignments and the general officer ranks. Following on from the Miss Fatima Jinnah there is a list of ten first Pakistani women.

Miss Fatima Jinnah, sister of Mohammed Ali Jinnah, was an instrumental figure in the Pakistan movement. In 1947, she formed the Women’s Relief Committee, which later formed the nucleus for the All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA). She was the first Muslim woman to contest the presidency in 1965, as a candidate of the Combined Opposition Party.
2. Begum Shaista Ikramullah
Begum Shaista Ikramullah was a prominent Pakistani female politician, diplomat and author. She was the Ambassador of Pakistan to many countries. She was the first woman elected member of the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan.
3. Begum Mahmooda Salim Khan
Begum Mahmooda Salim Khan was Pakistan’s first woman minister and member of the Cabinet of President General Ayub Khan.
4. Begum Nusrat Bhutto
Begum Nusrat Bhutto wife of Prime Minister Zulfikhar Ali Bhutto, led the Pakistani delegation to the United Nations’ first women’s conference in 1975.

5. Benazir Bhutto
Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan (1988)(1991) and the first woman elected to head a Muslim country. She was elected twice to the office of Prime Minister.
6. Nazia Hassan
Nazia Hassan was an iconic female Pakistani pop singer. Her debut album Disco Deewane (1981 charted in fourteen countries worldwide and became the best-selling Asian pop record up until that time. She was the first Pakistani to win a Filmfare Award and remains the youngest winner of a Filmfare Award in the category of Best Female Playback Singer to date. She was 15.
7. Dr.Fehmida Mirza
Dr.Fehmida Mirza is the first female speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan. Other prominent female Pakistani politicians include Begum Nasim Wali Khan, Raja Farzana, Syeda Abida Hussain, Sherry Rehman and Tehmina Daultana.
8. Hina Rabbani Khar
Hina Rabbani Khar became the first Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan in 2011. She is widely regarded as one of the highest ranking women in Pakistani politics.
9. Nigar Nazar
Nigar Nazar is the first woman cartoonist in Pakistan and the Muslim World. Her character Gogi is an urban Pakistani woman struggling with her frailties in the context of gender-discriminate social norms. She is the chief executive officer of Gogi Studios.

Samina Baig on 19 May 2013 became the first Pakistani woman to scale Mount Everest. She did this along with Nunshi and Tashi Malik, the first Indian twin sisters to scale the Everest. She is also first youngest Muslim women who climbed Everst at the age of 21.
